The invention provides a torque detection device and a power steering device. Provided are the torque detection device and the like that are less likely to cause interference between magnetostrictivetorque sensors and that are less likely to cause a beat frequency in an output signal, thereby reducing driver discomfort. The torque detection device includes: a plurality of torque detection units each having an excitation coil, a first detection coil, and a second detection coil, a first detection coil and a second detection coil that are provided around a first magnetostrictive film and a second magnetostrictive film formed in the radial direction of the shaft to excite, and that output an output signal corresponding to a change in inductance that changes in accordance with the magnitude of a torque applied to the shaft; a torque detection circuit, wherein the torque detection circuit detects the magnitude of the torque applied to the shaft on the basis of the output signal output fromthe torque detection unit, and sets the excitation frequencies, which are the frequencies at which the excitation coils of each of the plurality of torque detection units are excited, to be differentfrom each other.
