The autonomous vehicle (100,800) comprises speed planning devices (501,803). The method comprises the steps of in an automatic driving process of the autonomous vehicle (100,800), controlling the speed planning devices (501,803) to acquire the current treading depth of an accelerator pedal (801) of the autonomous vehicle (100,800) so that the speed planning devices (501,803) generate the expected speed of the autonomous vehicle (100,800) according to the current treading depth of the accelerator pedal (801) (S201); acquiring the expected speed of the autonomous vehicle generated by the speed planning devices (501,803) (S202), and adjusting the driving speed of the autonomous vehicle (100,800) according to the expected speed of the autonomous vehicle (100,800) (S203). The invention further includes a speed control system (500) of the autonomous vehicle, and the autonomous vehicle (100,800). The expected speed is set through the accelerator pedal (801) for adjusting the driving speed of the autonomous vehicle. The accelerator pedal (801) can be operator by a driver through a foot, thereby realizing no requirement for attention diversion of the driver, facilitating setting of the expected speed, and improving safety in automatic driving of the autonomous vehicle.
