The invention relates to a steering gear for a steering system of a motor vehicle, comprising a housing, a gear, a pinion, which meshes with the gear, and a pinion shaft, which comprises the pinion. On one side of the pinion, the pinion shaft is mounted in a fixed bearing, which comprises a rotary bearing (11), in which the pinion shaft is accommodated and which is accommodated in a bearing sleeve(15). The fixed bearing (6) also comprises a pivot ring (16), which has an outer ring (18) and an inner ring (17), which are connected to each other by means of one or more torsion webs (19) in sucha way that pivoting about a pivot axis (7) defined by the one or more torsion webs (19) is enabled, the inner ring (17) being accommodated in the bearing sleeve (15) and the outer ring (19) being mounted in the housing. A steering gear of this type is characterized in that the axial width of the torsion webs (19) and of first portions (27) of the outer ring (18) and of the inner ring (17) which are radially adjacent to the torsion webs (19) is smaller than the axial width of second portions (28) of the outer ring (18) and of the inner ring (17) which are adjacent to the first portions (27) inthe two circumferential directions. Thus, motions of the torsion webs (19) and of the first portions (27) based on deformation of the pivot ring (16) can be possible without contact between these parts of the pivot ring (16) and the components axially adjacent thereto.
