The invention relates to a speed control system of a passenger conveyor and a speed control method of the passenger conveyor, which can inhibit passenger retention at an elevator waiting position of the passenger conveyor and inhibit increase of total power consumption of a plurality of passenger conveyors. A speed control system for passenger conveyors according to an embodiment of the present invention comprehensively controls the operating speeds of a plurality of passenger conveyors, and is provided with a plurality of imaging means, a determination means, and a speed control means. The plurality of shooting units shoot respective elevator waiting places of the plurality of passenger conveyors. The determination unit analyzes the images photographed by the plurality of photographing units and determines the crowding degree of the elevator waiting places of the plurality of passenger conveyors. When a passenger conveyor whose degree of congestion at the elevator waiting position exceeds a predetermined upper limit value is detected, the speed control unit causes the passenger conveyor to operate at a second speed faster than a first speed, which is a standard speed, and causes one of the other passenger conveyors operating at the first speed to operate at a third speed slower than the first speed.

    一种乘客输送机的速度控制系统及乘客输送机的速度控制方法,抑制乘客输送机的候梯处的乘客的滞留,且抑制多台乘客输送机的总的耗电量增大。实施方式所涉及的乘客输送机的速度控制系统对多台乘客输送机的运转速度进行综合控制,具备多个拍摄单元、判定单元、速度控制单元。多个拍摄单元拍摄多台乘客输送机各自的候梯处。判定单元对由多个拍摄单元拍摄到的图像进行解析,判定多台乘客输送机各自的候梯处拥挤度。当检测到上述候梯处拥挤度超过了预定的上限值的乘客输送机时,速度控制单元使该乘客输送机以比标准速度即第一速度快的第二速度运转,并且使以第一速度运转中的其他的乘客输送机中的1台以比第一速度慢的第三速度运转。
