The invention discloses a wheel-track composite walking device with multiple walking modes. The wheel-track composite walking device comprises a gear shifting and speed changing system, a variable-axle-distance transmission system, a tail end fixed-axle transmission system, a bearing system, a shell, wheels and a track. The gear shifting and speed changing system is located in the center of the device and used for switching walking modes. The variable-axle-distance transmission system is installed between the gear shifting and speed changing system and the tail end fixed-axle transmission system, the length is changed through the bearing system, and therefore the axle distance between the main shaft and the tail end driven shaft is changed, and tensioning of the track is achieved. The bearing system is used for controlling the positions of the variable-axle-distance transmission system and the tail end fixed-axle transmission system and enabling the whole device to finish rolling advancing through the electromagnetic clutch. The tail end fixed-axle transmission system is used for driving wheels or the track to walk. The device has the advantages of being capable of achieving threewalking modes, easy and convenient to switch, good in trafficability and suitable for the fields of robots or engineering machines and the like.
