The invention discloses a vehicle lane change early warning method in different traffic environments, which comprises the following steps of firstly, respectively carrying out natural driving test andlimit test on a vehicle in different traffic environments, and obtaining natural driving test lane change data and limit test lane change data of the vehicle in different traffic environments, according to the limit test lane change data, when the relative speed of the two vehicles is greater than 0, taking the brake deceleration of the rear vehicle in the target lane as an early warning index, determining early warning thresholds under different traffic environments, according to the natural driving test lane change data, when the relative speed is smaller than 0, using the relative distanceas an early warning index, determining early warning thresholds under different traffic environments, and finally, for vehicles running in different traffic environments, selecting corresponding early warning thresholds according to the positive and negative relative speeds, and conducting lane change early warning on drivers of the vehicles. The false alarm rate of the early warning system is effectively reduced, the acceptance degree of a driver to the lane change early warning system is improved, and the early warning effect of the early warning system is improved.
