The invention discloses a relay control sequence method for failure of a power battery system of a new energy automobile. A battery cell, a fuse MSD, a main positive relay and a main negative relay form a high-voltage loop are included; the two ends of the main positive relay are in bridge connection with a pre-charging relay and a pre-charging resistor. The positive electrode of the pre-chargingrelay is connected with the positive electrode of the main positive relay. The negative electrode of the pre-charging resistor is communicated with the negative electrode of the main positive relay; the BAT+ of the battery cell is connected with the positive electrode of the main positive relay and the positive electrode of the pre-charging relay, the BAT- of the battery cell is connected with a current acquisition device, one end of the current acquisition device is connected with the positive electrode of the main negative relay, and the main positive relay, the main negative relay and the pre-charging relay are connected with a battery management system (BMS). The relay control sequence method has the characteristic of preventing adhesion accidents caused by on-load cutoff of a relay when the power battery system fails.
