The invention relates to the field of spring braking air chambers, and discloses a breather valve for a spring braking air chamber. The breather valve comprises a piston rod, a ventilation channel isarranged in the piston rod, a breathing cavity is formed in the piston rod, a plug is arranged at one end of the breathing cavity, the ventilation channel communicates with the breathing cavity, a valve plate is arranged in the breathing cavity, the valve plate isolates the breathing cavity into a first breathing cavity and a second breathing cavity which not communicate with each other, the ventilation channel communicates with the first breathing cavity, and the ventilation channel does not communicate with the second breathing cavity. A first breathing hole and a second breathing hole are formed in the piston rod, the first breathing hole always communicates with the first breathing cavity, and the second breathing hole always communicates with the second breathing cavity. The breathingstructure has the advantages of simple structure, convenient installation, low follow-up maintenance cost and long service life.
