The invention provides a high lift system (100) and a flap control method. The system are high in economy, high in driving precision and high in safety. Under normal flight conditions, a power drivingdevice (110) can provide power for enabling an inner flap (13a) and an outer flap (13b) to move synchronously. An electric motor (143) of a differential gear system (140) can be used for providing power for enabling the inner flap (13a) or the outer flap (13b) to move asynchronously. Under an abnormal flight condition, power can be provided by the electric motor (143) of the differential gear system (140) to move the inner flap (13a) or the outer flap (13b) synchronously.
