The invention discloses a spiral spring for an extra-heavy vehicle suspension and a preparation method thereof. The spiral spring comprises an equal-wire-diameter main section and a variable-wire-diameter auxiliary section which are integrally manufactured. The equal-wire-diameter main section is arranged on the upper side of the variable-wire-diameter auxiliary section. The wire diameter of the wire-diameter-variable auxiliary section is gradually increased from bottom to top to be equal to the wire diameter of the wire-diameter-equal main section. The suspension has the advantages of being simple in structure, low in cost, large in load, large in stroke, free of maintenance and high in reliability; the compression and extension stroke is increased while the bearing capacity is guaranteed, and the use requirements of an extra-heavy vehicle suspension for large loads, large strokes and small arrangement space can be met. The preparation method has advantages of simple process and easiness in implementation.
