The invention discloses a method for eliminating instrument panel reflection, and relates to the technical field of automobile spare parts. The method comprises the following steps: the position and the size of a light extinction area on a steering column shield are determined according to the position and the size of a light reflection area on the instrument panel based on a ray tracing algorithm, and the light extinction area is an area causing light reflection of the light reflection area; an untested extinction material is selected from a plurality of different extinction materials as a test material, the extinction area is coated with the test material, and the contrast DR of the light reflection area is calculated; in the same way, contrast DR corresponding to all the extinction materials is calculated; the DR is compared with a preset contrast C0, extinction materials meeting extinction conditions are selected out, and the extinction conditions are that DR is larger than or equal to C0; and at least one extinction material is selected from the selected extinction materials and wraps the extinction area so that diffuse reflection of the steering column protective cover is eliminated, and the problem that the instrument panel reflects light due to the fact that the light source outside the vehicle is reflected to the instrument panel from the steering column protective cover is solved.
