The invention relates to a device (2) for charging a battery (4) of an electrically driven motor vehicle (6), the device (2) comprising a first plug element (8) with an AC contact (12) for connectionto a household power network (20), a second plug element (14) with a direct current contact (18) for supplying a charging DC voltage (UDCL) to the battery (4) of the motor vehicle (6), and a voltage converter (26) connected between the AC contact (12) and the DC contact (18) for converting an AC voltage (UAC) provided by the household power network (20) into the charging DC voltage (UDCL).
