The invention relates to the technical field of carbon sliders, in particular to a preparation method of a copper-based silicon oxynitride pantograph carbon slider material. Silicon oxynitride, silicon carbide, copper, nanometer carbon powder, special graphite powder and the like are added into raw material pitch coke and are blended with other materials in raw materials, the mechanical strength of a finished carbon contact strip can be supplemented, and thus the carbon contact strip is not prone to breaking and cracking during operation. A preparation technology comprises the steps that firstly, raw materials are ground, then compression moulding forming and a copper leaching technology are conducted, finally, sintering carbonizing treatment is conducted, and the density and strength of the carbon slider material can be improved. As for the carbon slider material, the volume density is less than or equal to 3.8 g/cm<3>, the flexural strength is greater than or equal to 120, the compressive strength is greater than or equal to 240, the impact toughness is greater than or equal to 0.3 J/cm<2>, the electrical resistivity at 20 DEG C is less than or equal to 6 [mu]ohm.m, and the Rockwell hardness (HBS) is less than or equal to 100.
