The invention relates to a lifting appliance with adjustable hoisting point spacing and a crane. The lifting appliance with adjustable hanging point spacing comprises a cross beam and lifting hook assemblies, wherein a steel wire rope connecting structure is arranged on the cross beam for steel wire rope connection, and at least two positioning grooves are formed at the two ends in the length direction of the cross beam; the two lifting hook assemblies are respectively arranged at the two ends in the length direction of the cross beam through a hanging support part, and the hanging support part is used for supporting to the groove bottom wall of each positioning groove. The lifting appliance further comprises a rack, gears and a gear driving parts, wherein the rack is fixed on the cross beam and positioned between any two adjacent positioning grooves in the length direction of the cross beam; the gears are rotatably assembled on the lifting hook assemblies and are used for engaging with teeth at the end of the rack to climb to the rack during rotation, so that the hanging support parts of the lifting hook assemblies are lifted above notches of the positioning grooves; the groove wall of one side, close to the rack, of each positioning groove has a slope so as to avoid lifting of the hanging support parts; and the gear driving parts are used for driving the gears to rotate.
