The invention discloses an engine starting method and device for a hybrid electric vehicle. The engine starting method comprises steps that first accelerator pedal depth of a hybrid electric vehicle is obtained; whether an engine of the hybrid electric vehicle needs to be started or not is determined according to the first accelerator pedal depth, and a target starting mode of an engine is determined when the engine of the hybrid electric vehicle needs to be started; the target starting mode of the engine comprises any one of sliding friction starting and neutral gear starting. The engine starting method is advantaged in that due to the fact that the first accelerator pedal depth of the hybrid electric vehicle can represent the driving torque needed by the hybrid electric vehicle, whethera motor can independently provide the corresponding driving torque or not is judged, and whether the engine of the hybrid electric vehicle needs to be started or not and the target starting mode of the engine are further determined.

    本申请公开了一种混合动力汽车的发动机启动方法及装置,包括:获取混合动力汽车的第一油门踏板深度;根据所述第一油门踏板深度确定是否需要启动所述混合动力汽车的发动机,以及需要启动所述混合动力汽车的发动机时,所述发动机的目标启动方式;其中,所述发动机的目标启动方式包括:滑磨启动和空档启动中的任意一种。由此可见,采用本申请实施例提供的方案,由于混合动力汽车的第一油门踏板深度,可以表征所述混合动力汽车所需的驱动扭矩,从而判断电机是否能够独立提供相应的驱动力矩,进一步确定是否需要启动混合动力汽车的发动机以及发动机的目标启动方式。
