The invention provides a method and device for controlling stopping of a lifting system. The method includes the steps of receiving a stopping command for the lifting system; performing hovering control on a driving motor of the lifting system according to the stopping command, wherein by means of the hovering control, the driving motor is made to output the torque balanced with the lifting load of the lifting system, so that the driving motor works at a state of zero rotating speed or at a state close to zero rotating speed; performing braking control on a hydraulic braking system of the lifting system under the hovering control; monitoring working data for preset parameters of the hydraulic brake system in the braking control process; and making the driving motor stops working when the working data indicates that the braking control process is valid, so that safety parking of the lifting system can be realized.
