The invention relates to an underwater robot. The invention aims to provide a bionic scallop robot which is suitable for executing exploration tasks of underwater complex terrains and has the characteristics of reliable work and flexible movement. According to the technical scheme, the bionic scallop robot is characterized by comprising a scallop-shaped shell composed of two half shells, an opening and closing mechanism used for driving the half shells to be opened and closed to push the shell to advance, a steering mechanism used for being matched with the opening and closing mechanism to control the shell to steer, and a controller connected with the opening and closing mechanism and the steering mechanism; the two half shells are rotatably hinged through a rotating shaft structure, sealing strips connected with each other are arranged on the front edges and the two side edges of the half shells, two side plates extending towards the left side and the right side are arranged on the rear portions of the half shells, and the side plates of the two half shells define two jet flow channels communicated with an inner cavity of the outer shell respectively.
