The invention relates to the technical field of battery charging and discharging management, in particular to a battery management system management method suitable for an electric bicycle. A batterymanagement system suitable for an electric bicycle comprises a power supply module, a charging module, a discharging detection module, an awakening and low-power-consumption working module, a voltageacquisition module, a current acquisition module, a charger communication module, an instrument communication module and a processor connected with all the modules. The charging detection module is connected with a battery and a charger; the discharging detection module is connected with the positive pole of the battery; the awakening and low-power-consumption working module is connected with thebattery, the charger and the discharging detection module; the voltage acquisition module acquires the voltage of a battery in a battery pack; the current acquisition module collects charging and discharging current of the battery; the charger communication module communicates with the charger; and the instrument communication module communicates with an instrument to display the related information of the battery. According to the invention, the special charger matched with the battery can be identified, and economic loss caused by misuse of the charger by a user is effectively avoided.
