The invention discloses a safety car stopping device for an inclined roadway. The inclined roadway comprises a top plate and a bottom plate, rails are installed on the bottom plate, the car stopping device comprises a car stopping plate, the front portion of the car stopping plate is hung on the top plate through a first steel wire rope, the front end of the car stopping plate is close to the topplate, the rear portion of the car stopping plate is connected with a lifting structure through a second steel wire rope, and the lifting structure is arranged on the top plate and lifts or lowers therear portion of the car stopping plate; and a clamping groove is formed in the bottom plate between the rails and located behind the car stopping plate. When a mine car needs to pass through, a pneumatic pump lifts the rear portion of the car stopping plate to ensure smooth passing of the mine car, after the mine car passes, the rear portion of the car stopping plate is put back to the bottom plate, when the mine car slides and collides with the car stopping plate, the car stopping plate moves backwards, the front end of the car stopping plate can abut against the top plate, the rear end of the car stopping plate is obliquely inserted into the clamping groove, and the car stopping plate, the bottom plate and the mine car form a stable triangular stress structure to prevent the mine car from sliding.
