The invention discloses an airplane docking guide system and method based on laser scan. The method comprises steps of a capturing step, a guiding step and a following step, wherein a predicted appearance position of an airplane head is laser-scanned in a horizontal direction to acquire echo data after laser scan; the echo data is determined according to a determining condition to determine whether an airplane appears; in the guiding step, after the airplane appears, the airplane head is laser-scanned in a horizontal direction to acquire echo data through laser scan and determine an airplane nose position according to the echo data; in the following step, during the advancing of the airplane, the airplane nose position is followed through adjustments of vertical scanning angle of laser scan; and the airplane nose position can be displayed in real time. The airplane can be captured, guided and followed; the real-time position of the airplane can be acquired via accurate laser scan and displayed, so parking indication can be supplied to a pilot; and besides, airplane types can be automatically identified and airplane docking safety can be enhanced.
