Disclosed is a resistance reducing method for reducing resistance by installing a resistance reducing shell. The resistance reducing method is composed of resistance reducing shell layers, provided with vortex-forming resistance reducing pieces in various shapes, installed on the outer surfaces of an aircraft, a missile, a torpedo and a submarine, and the outer surface, below the water line, of a surface ship. The resistance reducing method is characterized in that after the resistance reducing shell layers provided with the vortex-forming resistance reducing pieces in the various shapes are installed on the aircraft, the missile, the torpedo, the submarine, and the part, below the water line, of the surface ship, convex parts and concave parts are distributed alternatively on the outer surfaces of the lower portions of the aircraft, the missile, the torpedo, the submarine, and the like; a certain extent of vortex-like-shaped flow characteristics are formed in the process that air or water flow flows through the installed resistance reducing shell layers with the various vortex-forming resistance reducing pieces.
