The present invention provides a crane device and a crane control method, which are capable of improving lag of lifting action and efficiency reduction of loading and unloading operation caused by time lag of an engine generator. At a moment when a spreader state detection sensor (S), based on state of a spreader (10), detects that the state is a lifting ready condition for lifting beginning of a container (20), before inputting lifting operation, a control circuit (5) makes the rotating speed of the engine generator (1) automatically rise to a lifting rotating speed.
