The invention relate to a novel light bicycle tire which comprises a left tire bead portion, a right tire bead portion, side wall portions and a tire tread portion. The side wall portions extend from the tire bead portions to the radial outer side of the tire, and the tire tread portion is in bridge connection with the two side wall portions. The tire tread portion comprises a crown in contact with the ground and tire shoulders connected with the side wall portions. The novel light bicycle tire further comprises a cord fabric layer folded back to wrap the tire bead portions for a circle, and the edge of the cord fabric layer is folded upwards around a bead core to be anchored in the two tire shoulders in a wrapping mode. The tire tread portion comprises a reinforced cord fabric layer and a tire tread layer which are sequentially on the outer side of the cord fabric layer and annularly arranged in the circumferential direction of the tire, and the reinforced cord fabric layer and the cord fabric layer are arranged on the two tire shoulders in an overlapped mode. The cord fabric layer is folded to wrap the tire bead portions for a circle, and the reinforced cord fabric layer arranged on the outer side of the cord fabric layer is used in combination, so that the tire tread portion is divided into two layers, and the tire side portion is divided into two layers; under the condition of reducing the weight of the tire, the safety and durability of the tire are also guaranteed, weight reduction of the bicycle tire is achieved, and the requirement for riding comfort is met.
