The invention provides a double-layer steel wire rope electric hoist which comprises a support, a coiling block which is arranged on the support in a rotating mode, and a steel wire rope which is wound on the coiling block. The two ends of the steel wire rope are fixed to one end of the coiling block. The steel wire rope is wound on the coiling block from one end to form a first layer steel wire rope body, and is wound with the first layer steel wire rope body on the coiling block from the other end to form a second layer steel wire rope body. The coiling block is provided with a first rope guide and a second rope guide which are fixedly connected. During operation, the first rope guide and the second rope guide work simultaneously and move in the same direction so that the upper layer steel wire rope body and the lower layer steel wire rope body can be wound or unwound simultaneously; the hoisting height of the electric hoist can be greatly increased, and the hoisting height is almost twice that of an original electric hoist under the condition that the size of the electric hoist is basically unchanged. The requirement of electric steel wire rope hoist customers for the large hoisting height can be met, the product market occupancy rate can be increased, and benefits are created.
