The invention provides a system and method for recovery and utilization of kinetic energy of an electric vehicle, and relates to the technical field of electric vehicles. By the adoption of the system, one end of a supercapacitor is connected with hub motors, the other end of the supercapacitor is connected with an auxiliary battery, a vehicle-mounted terminal device and a vehicle-mounted electrical appliance, and the auxiliary battery is connected with the vehicle-mounted terminal device and the vehicle-mounted electrical appliance, and therefore when the electric vehicle brakes, induced potential generated by the hub motors charges the supercapacitor, and braking kinetic energy can be converted into electric energy to be stored in the supercapacitor; and when the electric vehicle moves at a constant speed, the electric energy stored in the supercapacitor is utilized again, and supplied to the vehicle-mounted terminal device and the vehicle-mounted electrical appliance, and the auxiliary battery is charged at the same time. The phenomena that a power battery is directly charged, and then the power battery conducts power supply are avoided, the kinetic energy recovery and utilization efficiency of the system is improved, the performance of the power battery cannot be affected, and then the service life of the power battery is prolonged.
