The invention provides an automobile gas combination instrument and a control method thereof, which are used for displaying gas quantity, fuel state, vehicle battery voltage monitoring information, gas leakage information, safety alarming information, vehicle ambient temperature monitoring and alarming information and the like of a gas vehicle in real time and are convenient for drivers to know vehicle gas information. Meanwhile, the automobile gas combination instrument is also integrated with a CAN (Controller Area Network) communication function and can share information with other controllers in the vehicle. According to the invention, the automobile gas combination instrument comprises a power supply management module, a digital gas quantity collecting module, a fuel state collecting and automatic switching module, a gas leakage collecting and alarming module, a vehicle ambient temperature collecting and alarming module, an instrument controller, a multi-functional button, a liquid crystal display module, a buzzer, an input output interface, a CAN communication interface and an instrument fault diagnosing and processing module. According to the invention, information related to vehicle gas fuel and gas safety are visually displayed on a liquid crystal combination instrument screen to be convenient for the drivers to monitor the gas state of the vehicle.
