The invention discloses a traffic guiding method and system of a passenger car and freight car separated multi-lane highway. Aimed at separating passenger cars from freight cars before the cars enter the passenger car and freight car separated highway, the highway is divided into a basic road, a charging square area, a charging channel area, a main confluence area and a basic passenger car and freight car separated road; and corresponding guiding strategies are provided aimed at the characteristic of each area/road as well as the driving behavior characteristic in each area/road. The system mainly fills the blank in researches on the passenger car and freight car separated multi-lane highway, the passenger cars are separated from the freight cars in the ordered, safe and efficient manner via the segmented and layered guiding strategies, the cars are prevented from entering the mistake lanes, and the characteristics including high driving safety, high passing efficiency and driving comfortableness of the passenger car and freight car separated multi-lane highway are fully embodied.
