The invention discloses a novel motor-based automobile front wheel independent steering system. Independent steering can overcome the defect of traditional steering, and has the advantages of being capable of improving vehicle handling stability, reducing tyre wear and improving economical efficiency, and the like. The steering system comprises novel motors, a connecting mechanism and a transmission mechanism, wherein each novel motor adopts a linear transmission motor; the connecting mechanism comprises a cylindrical connecting sleeve, a left connecting piece and a right connecting piece; the transmission mechanism comprises a pull rod joint and a steering knuckle arm. A left front wheel and a right front wheel respectively correspond to one linear transmission motor; the two motors are mutually independent and directly drive the steering of the respective and corresponding wheel. As the two motors are adopted, when one motor in the system is faulted and stops working, the left and right connecting pieces can be combined to change independent steering into whole steering; only one motor works, power supply is insufficient but still can ensure low-speed steering and enable an automobile to run to a maintenance site for maintenance, and the work reliability of the system is improved.
