The invention discloses a locking device for reducing station space of a public bicycle. A lock is arranged on a suspended cross bar, a lock groove is formed in the middle of a locking closed part below the lock, the two sides of an opening of the lock groove are 45-degree slopes, a variable-speed motor is arranged in an inner cavity of the lock, a drag cable is wound around a reel connected with a shaft of the variable-speed motor, one end of the drag cable is provided with a lock buckle, the lock buckle can stretch out of the opening of the lock groove and be used for buckling a front wheel of the bicycle, the variable-speed motor rotates so that the drag cable can contract to lift the front wheel of the bicycle and embed the front wheel into the lock groove, and a card reader is arranged on the front side of the lock and connected with an intelligent controller. By means of the technology, parking space of a bicycle station is reduced, passing of people is facilitated, anti-theft performance is good, and operation is easy and convenient.
