The problem addressed by the present invention is to provide a method that is for attaching a filler pipe and that can reduce the amount of transmission of a hydrocarbon and can attach easily. The method for attaching a filler pipe attaches a filler pipe (20) to the aperture (FTa) of a fuel tank (FT) with an attachment member (10) therebetween, and is characterized by containing: a fitting step for fitting the tubular attachment member (10) to the inside of the aperture of the filler pipe (20); a contact step for contacting, to the surface (FTb) at the periphery of the aperture (FTa) of the fuel tank (FT), a first flange (13) protruding outwards in the radial direction from the outer peripheral surface of the attachment member (10), and a second flange (25) protruding outwards in the radial direction from the outer peripheral surface of the filler pipe (20); and a welding step for welding the first flange (13) and second flange (25) to the surface (FTb).
