The invention relates to a driving system for a low-fuel extended-range electric vehicle. The driving system for the low-fuel extended-range electric vehicle comprises a storage battery power supply driving system, a power generator power supply driving system and a motor, wherein the storage battery power supply driving system comprises a storage battery and a controller; the power generator power supply driving system comprises a fuel tank and a power generator set which is connected with a control system; the power generator set comprises an internal combustion engine and a power generator; the storage battery is connected with the motor through the controller; the internal combustion engine is connected with the power generator through a connecting shaft; a current output end of the power generator is connected with the motor; an anode output terminal of the power generator is connected with an anode input end of the storage battery; and a cathode output terminal of the power generator is connected with a cathode input end of the storage battery. According to the invention, the electric vehicle can run a long distance and the convenience in use is greatly improved.
