The invention discloses an urban road network rationality evaluation method and device. The method includes the steps that traffic data of a floating car are acquired in real time, wherein the traffic data comprise position data; the matching result of track points of the floating car and road segments of an urban road network is determined according to the position data; traffic flow data of all the road segments of the urban road network are obtained through analysis according to the traffic data and the matching result; verification traffic flow data collected by fixed traffic data monitoring equipment are acquired; the nonlinear coefficients of all the road segments are obtained through calculation according to the verification traffic flow data, verified traffic flow data of all the road segments within the same period of time and corresponding road segment lengths, and the urban road network is evaluated according to the nonlinear coefficients. Compared with the prior art, by applying the traffic data of the floating car to traffic flow analysis, flexibility is enhanced, cost is lowered, and accuracy is improved.
