The invention discloses a compact hoist roller which comprises outer blocking rings, a cylinder, a middle blocking ring, steel wire rope pressing plates and bolts. The center of the outer side of the cylinder is provided with the middle blocking ring. The two ends of the cylinder are both provided with the outer blocking rings. Spiral rope grooves are machined in the non-blocking-rope faces of the outer blocking rings at the two ends, and other ends of the rope grooves are provided with the steel wire rope pressing plates. The steel wire rope pressing plates and the outer blocking rings are fixed through the bolts. The size occupied by the pressing rope part of the roller in the length direction is reduced, and the number of pressing rope rings can be increased. According to the compact hoist roller, size occupied by the pressing rope part of the roller in the length direction is reduced effectively, so that the super-high lifting height is achieved with small size; and the appropriate number of the pressing rope rings can be increased, and the safety of the roller is improved.
