The invention discloses a method for adjusting the elevator balance coefficient on site. The method comprises the steps of coarse adjustment, balance pre-judgment, fine adjustment, micro adjustment and the like. Balance weights of corresponding weight are added to an elevator by multiplying the elevator rated load weight and the target balance coefficient; a band-type brake is loosened, whether the balance coefficient is large or small and the deviation degree are preliminarily judged, and the balance pre-judgment process is finished; then according to a balance pre-judgment result in the second step, if an elevator car slides upwards, the balance coefficient is large, and the number of the balance weights needs to be correspondingly reduced, and if the elevator car slides downwards, the balance coefficient is small, and the number of the balance weights needs to be correspondingly increased; and the operation of the second step and the third step is sequentially and repeatedly executed till the elevator car of the elevator is in a static state or in a state close to be static when the band-type brake is loosened. The method for adjusting the elevator balance coefficient on site has the beneficial effects of being easy and convenient to operate, high in adjusting efficiency, good in balance coefficient repeatability, high in balance coefficient accuracy and high in practicability.
