The invention provides a hybrid electric vehicle based on Internet of Things. The hybrid electric vehicle comprises a vehicle body, an engine, a transmission, a motor and a power battery. The engine, the transmission, the motor and the power battery are arranged in the vehicle body. The power battery is connected with the motor and used for supplying electricity to the motor. The motor and the engine are connected with the transmission, and the transmission is used for driving the vehicle body to advance. A controller is arranged in the vehicle body and connected with a GPS positioning module, an acceleration sensor and a communication module. The controller is used for sending GPS positioning module data to a server through the communication module and turning on double-flash indication lights after a collected value of the acceleration sensor is larger than a preset value. Mutual alarming of the hybrid electric vehicle can be achieved, and safety is increased.
