The invention discloses a large vehicle blind area monitoring system based on infrared induction. Cameras are arranged on the two sides above a head end of a large vehicle respectively. Infrared induction modules are arranged at front wheels on the two sides respectively. The vehicle is internally provided with an alarm module, a display module and a gear sensor which is used for inducting the gear state of the vehicle. Firstly, images, shot by the cameras on the two sides above the head end, at the front wheels on the two sides of the vehicle are displayed in the display module; and then the distances between obstacles closest to the front wheels on the two sides are compared with the preset distance threshold value, the gear state of the vehicle is obtained, and if the obstacle with the distance smaller than or equal to the preset distance threshold value exists and the vehicle is in a driving gear, the alarm module is controlled to give an alarming prompt to a driver. The large vehicle blind area monitoring system is simple in design and convenient to use, a rear view system of the large vehicle is supplemented, no blind area exists in the rear view system, and the safety coefficient is improved.
