The invention discloses a method and device for intelligently transforming unidirectional four lanes and belongs to the field of domestic traffic active luminous signs. A vehicle detector detects the vehicle passing state of each lane. A single-chip microcomputer master control module reads and compares the traffic flows of the lanes in order to accordingly control the direction displayed on a road sign display, thereby achieving a purpose of reasonably configuring lane resources. The device comprises sensing units, a vehicle detector, a single-chip microcomputer master control unit, and a road sign display. Four sensing units have access to the vehicle detector in total. The vehicle detector and the single-chip microcomputer master control unit establish communication via a data line. The single-chip microcomputer master control unit is electrically connected with the road sign display, and controls, by switching a relay, a first through display panel in the road sign display to display a left-turn sign or a through sign and a second through display panel in the road sign display to display a right-turn sign or a through sign.
