The invention discloses an auxiliary starting flame-out protection method applied to an electronic parking brake system of a motor vehicle. The motor vehicle comprises an engine controller, an electronic stabilizing device controller, a vehicle body controller, a vehicle body CAN bus, a vehicle backing interface circuit and a CAN communication circuit. The electronic parking brake system is provided with an electronic parking brake system controller and an executing mechanism. The electronic parking brake system controller is connected with the vehicle body CAN bus through the CAN communication circuit. By the adoption of the technical scheme, safety performance is improved; a protection applying function is achieved through an EPB system, and the problem that engine flameout is caused by improper operation of a driver after vehicle starting and EPB automatic release, and potential safety hazards happen is avoided; system cost is low, no peripheral parts need to be added to the system, implementation is performed on the basis of an original system, and no system cost is increased.
