The invention relates to a device for detecting the service life of an elevator cable. The device comprises a plurality of temperature sensors or piezoelectric parts, the temperature sensors or the piezoelectric parts are arranged on the cable, and the piezoelectric parts can be bent freely along with the cable. The temperature sensors or the piezoelectric parts are arranged in the length direction of the cable at equal intervals and are electrically connected with a master control system of an elevator. When the elevator runs, the master control system receives piezoelectric signals generated by the piezoelectric parts or receives temperature signals uploaded by the temperature sensors; whether the portions, corresponding to the piezoelectric parts generating the piezoelectric signals or the temperature sensors uploading the temperature signals, of the cable are bent or not is judged; bending results are stored in an inner storage. Compared with the prior art, workers can check bending frequency of all parts of the cable in the master control system at any time, and the cable can be maintained and replaced conveniently in time.
