The invention provides a method for controlling wheel slip of a wheel (2) of a motor vehicle (1). The method includes following steps of: braking the wheel (2) by supplying a first measured quantity of brake liquid from a brake cylinder (4) to a brake device (3) of the wheel (2); determining the wheel slip; and providing a second measured quantity of brake liquid of the brake device (3) of the wheel (2) to the brake cylinder (4) if wheel slip is above the set value. According to the invention, steps for measuring the change in the volume of brake liquid of the brake cylinder (4) and measurement value of brake effect are provided. In the invention, the second measured quantity of brake fluid is determined on the basis of the measured change in the volume of the brake fluid in the brake cylinder and the change in the measure of the braking effect. The invention further relates to a hydraulic brake device and the motor vehicle (1) provided with the brake device.
