The invention relates to a device for marking tidal lane lines and a working method of the device. The device comprises a color-variable unit, a traffic flow sensor, a power supply unit, a central control unit and a signal receiver, wherein the color-variable unit is connected with the power supply unit and the central control unit, the traffic flow sensor is connected with the power supply unit and the central control unit, and the central control unit is connected with the signal receiver. The device is simple in structure and rapid and convenient in use, and the tidal lane lines are marked visually and vividly and can be conveniently identified by drivers. According to the device and working method thereof, the amount of lanes in different directions can be automatically adjusted according to the traffic flow in the different directions, the passing capability of the road is improved, and traffic obstruction is prevented; and the amount of lanes can be also adjusted manually according to requirements, the signal marking lines of the road are changed rapidly, the problem that reflective cones, barricades and the like occupy the road during use is solved, and the utilization rate of the road is improved.
