The invention belongs to the technical field of urban expressway traffic management, and specifically relates to an analysis method for potential traffic conflicts in expressway weaving sections based on traffic surface radars. The analysis method includes following steps: laying the traffic surface radars at the expressway weaving sections, and setting and calibrating the equipment installation height and angle; obtaining real-time data of the traffic surface radars; calculating the relative distances of coordinate systems of each two moving targets in a detection area; and distinguishing the potential conflicts of the moving targets. According to the analysis method, characteristics of fast response time, high detection precision of the moving targets, and the ability of accurate multi-target tracking of the traffic surface radars are employed, the potential conflicts are distinguished via the positions of two moving targets and the driving track, advanced early warning is realized, active avoidance measures are taken, traffic accidents are prevented, and support is provided for expressway traffic safety management.
