A ship shafting flange fitting bolt installation assisting tool comprises two screw nuts, a tube core and an outer sheath, wherein the middle part of the tube core is cone-shaped, two ends of the tube core are provided with threads which match threads of the screw nuts, the outer sheath is of a tubular housing structure, the inner surface of the outer sheath is cone-shaped while the outer surface is cylinder-shaped, a slot is disposed in the length direction of the outer sheath, the outer sheath sleeves the tube core, and the screw nuts are connected in a threaded manner at the two ends of the tub core. An assembling method is also provided, and thus shafting connection is realized. With adoption of the method, damages caused to fitting bolts and bolt holes by defects of the bolt holes of flanges when the fitting bolts are inserted into the bolt holes of the flanges are avoided, and thus the resulting delay of a ship construction cycle and economic losses are avoided.
