The invention discloses a traveling mechanism for a wheel-track inspection robot. The front portion of a main body crawler mechanism is provided with a swing arm crawler mechanism and a traveling wheel mechanism. The swing arm crawler mechanism is composed of a swing arm shaft, a swing arm motor and left and right track arms. The swing arm shaft and the swing arm motor are mounted on a rock body of the swing arm crawler mechanism. The left and right track arms are arranged at two ends of the swing arm shaft. The swing arm motor drives the swing arm shaft to rotate by means of a swing arm speed reducer. The swing arm shaft drives the left and right track arms to swing up and down. The traveling wheel mechanism comprises a universal wheel arranged on a central line of the bottom surface of the main body crawler mechanism, a left traveling wheel and a right traveling wheel. A traveling manner of the above three wheels is thus formed. The traveling mechanism for the wheel-track inspection robot has following beneficial effects: a novel wheel-track mobile mechanism is adopted so that track-type movement and wheel-type movement can be independently achieved; and without interference between two kinds of movement manners, advantages of the wheel-type movement featuring flexible movement and track-type movement featuring high obstacle-surmounting performance are fully given into full play such that the robot can adapt to different road conditions and working environments.
