The invention provides an authentication method for an antitheft unit of an engine, and an engine control unit enables the authentication data of an engine control unit to be transmitted to the antitheft unit of the engine. The antitheft unit of the engine enables high 32 bits of first encryption result data of the antitheft unit of the engine to be compared with high 32 bits of first encryption result data of the engine control unit. If the high 32 bits of first encryption result data of the antitheft unit of the engine is consistent with high 32 bits of first encryption result data of the engine control unit. The authentication data of the antitheft unit of the engine is transmitted to the engine control unit. The engine control unit enables low 64 bits of second encryption result data of the engine control unit to be compared with low 64 bits of second encryption result data of the antitheft unit of the engine. If the low 64 bits of second encryption result data of the engine control unit is consistent with low 64 bits of second encryption result data of the antitheft unit of the engine, the engine is started and the transmission of the authentication data of the engine control unit to the antitheft unit of the engine is started. The method is high in safety level, and is high in encryption speed.
