The invention provides a fault monitoring and prewarning system of a vehicle brake system. The system monitors the pressure applied to brake friction pieces and the brake hydraulic force of a vehicle brake master pump in real time; the brake pressure of all friction pieces on coaxial wheels is compared, and the time of the brake pressure of the friction pieces reaching maximum values is compared; the brake pressure of all the friction pieces is compared with the pressure of the brake master pump, and the timestamps of the brake pressure of all the friction pieces and the pressure of the brake master pump generating maximum values are compared; the system monitors the temperature change and the change speed of the brake friction pieces to serve as supplementation, confirmation and redundant backup systems of the vehicle brake fault monitoring and prewarning system; if fault hidden troubles exist, prewarning information is sent, so that the brake system faults are discovered at the germination phase; the parts and the properties of the faults are positioned more precisely to timely detect, maintain and repair the brake system so as to guarantee the driving safety; and the system not only can be applied to the transformation of using vehicles, but also can be applied to newly developed vehicle models.
