The invention discloses a device for preventing an accelerator from being stepped by mistake. The device comprises a base, a rocking bar, a pawl, a ratchet wheel, a cam and a double-acting cylinder. The rocking bar is rotatably fixed to the base and is in linkage with an accelerator pedal. The pawl is arranged on the rocking bar. The ratchet wheel corresponds to the pawl. The cam is in transmission connection with the ratchet wheel and is rotatably arranged on the base. The tail end of the double-acting cylinder is hinged to the base, and the piston rod end of the double-acting cylinder is connected with the cam. A throttling hole is formed in a piston of the double-acting cylinder, or an oil path pipe communicated with the front space and the rear space of the piston is arranged outside a cylinder body. The device is simple in structure, ingenious in design and convenient to carry, mount and dismount, and the situation that due the fact that the accelerator is stepped by mistake in emergency situations, traffic accidents are caused can be effectively avoided. Based on the pinhole damping principle, the stability and reliability of mechanical transmission are achieved at the same time, and the function of preventing the automobile accelerator from being stepped by mistake is achieved with relatively-low cost.
