An embodiment of the invention discloses a vehicular traction system. The vehicular traction system comprises a generator set, an autotransformer, rectifying circuits, a storage battery, a direct-current control motor set and a controller. Voltage generated by the generator set is inputted to the storage battery through the autotransformer and is inputted to the direct-current control motor set through the rectifying circuits so as to supply electricity to the storage battery and the direct-current control motor set, and the controller is connected with the direct-current control motor set electrically and used for controlling the direct-current control motor set to output power so as to enable the traction force corresponding to the maximum output power of the direct-current control motor set to be larger than downward gravity and frictional force borne by an engineering vehicle provided with the vehicular traction system when the engineering vehicle is driven on a 30-degree uphill road segment.
