The invention provides a traffic signal coordination control scheme smooth transition period generation method considering intersection maximum and minimum signal periodic constraints. Coordination control is mainly adopted for urban intersection traffic signals, when conversion between a constant scheme and a coordination control scheme and conversion between different coordination control schemes are carried out, smooth transition of the schemes is required, so that smooth transition of the traffic signals can be realized. The method of the invention includes the following steps that: an intersection signal machine receives a new coordination control scheme, and different smooth transition schemes are adopted through judging whether an original control scheme is a coordination control scheme; consumption time required by current smooth transition is calculated according to the different smooth transition schemes; smooth transition schemes for increasing periods or decreasing periods are determined according to the consumption time; and the number and length of smooth transition periods can be obtained through calculation based on consideration on the intersection maximum and minimum periodic constraints. With the method of the invention adopted, smooth transition time can be effectively reduced with stable operation of an intersection ensured.
