The invention discloses a vehicle accumulator monitoring method and a system. The method comprises the steps of: (A) entering a step B if a remote control locking signal is not received within 20 seconds after an engine is stopped; and entering a step C if the remote control locking signal is received; (B) detecting the self-discharge current of an accumulator in 10 seconds of receiving the remote control locking signal; and warning in a wireless manner if the self-discharge current is greater than a current threshold; (C) detecting the voltage of the accumulator; entering a step D if the voltage of the accumulator is lower than a lower limit of the voltage; and finishing the flow if the voltage of the accumulator is higher than or equal to the lower limit of the voltage; and (D) detecting if a driver is in a vehicle by an in-place detector, blinking to warn through an electricity-deficient warning lamp if the driver is in the vehicle, and warning in a wireless manner if the driver is not in the vehicle. The method prompts the driver to timely treat faults to prevent the incapability of vehicle starting caused by high-current self-discharge for a long time. The method is suitable for all vehicle accumulators.
